Nydia G. Cortez joined PRC in May of 2004, as the Executive Director/CEO.
Ms. Cortez was born in Brooklyn, New York, the eldest child of parents born and raised in Puerto Rico. Ms. Cortez moved to the Valley of the Sun in March of 2002, after having lived in Houston, TX for 22 years.
Ms. Cortez received her Bachelor of Arts with a Social Science major from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY in January of 1978. She began her human services career that same year. In 1992 she completed her Masters in Public Health with an emphasis in Community Health practice from the University of Texas, Health Science Center, School of Public Health, in Houston, TX.
Ms. Cortez has dedicated her professional career to working with not for profit organizations of all sizes, ranging from neighborhood associations to a multiple hospital system. With over 27 years of health and human service practice and more than 12 years of management and supervisory experience, Ms. Cortez brings with her an array of talents and skills needed for the efficient and effective operation of PRC.
